I am going to Atlanta next week to look at a Skymaster for possible purchase.

Does anyone know of a good mechanic in that area who can do a pre-buy inspection?

Thanks,

Jim:

The mech I use is in Greenville, SC, about a 40 minute flight from Atlanta. (I make it all the time) He's very knowledgable about Skymasters, and would probably be happy to help. His shop is on GMU (Greenville Downtown) West Ramp (Lakeside Aircraft).

If interested, call Smitty at (864) 271-7800 and tell him I referred you. He stays pretty covered up but would probably be happy to accomodate you, especially with the usual time issues related to pre-buys.

Sorry I can't help with anyone closer to Atlanta. I'm in and out of Lawrenceville, Charlie Brown, and Peachtree DeKalb pretty often, and the line folks usually look at my Skymaster cross-eyed. So I get the feeling that not many fly through that area.

Ironically, there are 3 Skymasters at GMU that Smitty services.

Thanks , Keven.

I will give them a call on Tuesday and see what we can put together.

A forty minute flight is about right to get everything nice and warmed up.

I used Air Services in Carrollton GA (about 45 minutes west of Atlanta). Sammy seemed very knowledgable on Skymasters.

If you bring the plane in yourself, call me and I'll take you to lunch / dinner / whatever.

Thanks for the offer!

I will know more on Saturday when I get an up-close and personal look at the plane (or maybe Friday... depends on when I can get into Atlanta).

If I do come up I will call.
