Well we are confused at to which ting is right… for the next meeting… as we are getting a lot of suggestions... which are conterdictory...

First … Location… Location… Location….

Yep… you can't imagine the complaints we got about where the meeting this year should be…

Seems that everyone wants it in their back yard…. Which probably isn't going to happen…. So we are actively looking for a place to have it… kinda in the middle… And actually looking for a place that you all would like to make it to... something in the middle of the road or country kinda thing... as the west coast guys are saying its too far to go to the east and the wx is wrong ... the east coast guys are saying that the west coast is too far... and the wx is too good.... the guys from the north and south also have their gripes… about traveling too far… which makes me kinda wonder about if they really fly the planes that they own… much… after all a good x country trip is not beyond the reach of the skymaster… but, I can see their point… they want something that they don't have to fly all day to go to… and then spend another day coming back… it seems that we have a couple of time slots…. Some say 2-4 hours is about all.. they want to fly a day… others say no more than 5. Some say that going outside the country is not the best.. because it is too hard to keep up with the customs and passports… and the passengers etc.. and all… So their recommendations was to have it here in the states…. and we all squeak when we walk kinda funny .. with money in our pockets... sort of thing... smile....

Second…. What about if it breaks down….
Ya that's a concern… but, then again if the plane is flying and in good condition it should be able to handle a 300 mile trip and just as easy do a 500…. Flying with a group is a good security blanket so that if one has problems… the other can help out… HF radio communications is another good way to stay in touch… Cell phones… another… Ham radio is but, another way to do it also… bringing your mechanic along is also a good option… but, they like to bring all their tools with them… smile… leaving not much room for the wife and kids… But, again traveling is kinda iffy right now with the government making up all kinds of stuff that keeps aircraft grounded some times….

Third….. Cost…
Ahhh….here is the biggie of the suggestions…. The cost… some want to be able to come to the meeting and then fly home…. The largest group in the pole was the ones that wanted to just say overnight… and then go home the next day … or at least be home the next day… because they cant take the time off… So they also are concerned about the cost for staying overnight…. Tiedown… security…. Meals … etc…. They seem to like the option of either participating in the sight seeing or not… depending on their budget… So Cost is a concern….

Forth… Time….
I think we have covered this issue…. But, most seem to think a 2 or 3 day thing is about right… after that as one person says… its like dead fish… Hmmmm wonder what he means… by that…

Fifth…. Topic….
Ahhhh here we have a large field or returns…. Some want topics on their concerns.. others want to cover the whole plane… some want to narrow it down to a single area… as the complete plane leaves them with little to remember because there is …. Just too much stuff…. Others are not interested in single topics… and may not elect to come because it doesn't concern them right now… so we have a large area to chose from…. Some what to spend more time… on the discussion of the plane… others want to spend less… and move on to more informative information that will concern them… Some don't want it as technical or detailed… as they don't understand mechanics… others want it to go full depth… leaving no stone unturned… some want hands on .. others want movies and pictures… Some want to bring their manuals.. others don't see why they should… as it is a weight thing… and some think that all the tech stuff should be posted on the web like a library of info and not even brought up at the meeting… instead they want to talk about flying experiences and war stories… So what to do…

My personal preference….
I kinda like the Idaho, Boise suggestion... as their is a big meeting room and the cost is reasonable... fishing and hunting… while others are saying TEXAS... and BBQ's… while others are saying that Kansas, and the Cessna plant would be a great tour, trip... that is where Mr. Whitmaker used to have his...

Most are saying that they want a longer tech session that doesn't cover as much... but, allow a period of questions and ans... for the sticky problems... on the whole airplane… and they suggest just one topic...

the problem is that as we go thru the year... it seems that we cover just about all the areas... smile.. so covering just one topic is not what others seem to want...

So what to do…. Smile… any suggestions… ???? Oregon and river rafting, Gold beach and Jet boating… Fishing…. Almost every state has some thing that is interesting… NM has the balloon stuff in October I think… Texas has the food but, again wx is a problem… Co. is too high… Utah is great but, its out in the wild country… Oh.. what should one do…???? What do you want to see …. As some say they want something different each time… GMAs…
