Actually - it was not a brush - but a bushing (like a really thin washer) to keep the gear from wearing against the gearcase.
I am working now to figure out the gear reduction the existing unit has. What do you think? |

Pat, try 100 to 1 ratio. The orginal company that made the motor is no longer in business so it has to be a different orginization. What is the name of the company? If you don't want to mention it on the web, please send me an e-mail.

From my calculations - it looks like the output shaft needs to turn 1/4 turn to actuate the cowl flap. For a 4 second Open/Close cycle - the motor would be ~ 6000 RPM motor w/ 1600:1 reduction. Very low torque. I am waiting for a price to see what they come back with... |
