Bummer

These are non-procurable parts. Cessna has no availability of these parts. They offer overhauled units for $2,861. If it was just the cork gasket I needed I went to the local auto parts store bought a roll of the fel-pro gasket material of the same thickness and proceeded to rely on my first grade arts and craft days to pattern and cut out new gaskets. I’ve seen other mechanics seal them with pro-seal or B2 but I was always leery about the sealant getting into the selector. I opted for making new gaskets.

Just to follow up this thread. How is the fel-pro gasket holding up? Any leaks yet or was it like fel-pro was made for 100LL?

Ed

Just replaced one of mine. Original was cork as was replacement. My old one had shrunk enough that the screws could be turned by hand. Only the safety wire was holding them in. The original gasket lasted 38 years.
