No Yankee Air Force for me

Sunday is Napoleon 3NP Fly in
Just South East of JXN
7-11 AM

Herb, what time are you going over??
Jerry, want to ride with me?

I am leaving GRR around 9:45 AM
Should be arriving around 10:15 AM
I am bringing the family, does Kathryn want to come?
Mother's Day flying at its best :)

Have you ever been to this field? What do think, good idea?

We could do something a little more elegant.

Thanks for the offer Larry, but can't make it today.

YIP, parallel runways with active tower (Nice people). The Yankee Airforce burned down about a year ago. Don't know if they rebuilt yet. They have a nice outside static display which includes an B-52 and I beliebe an SR-71 Black Bird.

Hoping to have my plane back by Three Rivers' flyin. If so, maybe formation.

Well $100 hamburger is an understatement. Boyne Mountain and the Mother's Day Brunch. Awesome but don't forget your VISA card. Oh, BTW they take MasterCard too.

Nice flight but a little hazy. Very turbulent below 3,000.

Larry, much better field up there than 3NP. I still think I will try it though. They don't call me Rough Surface for nothing.

Anyone around Flint, MI interested in a morning fly in at Flushing, 3DA? Sounds like things start around 7 AM.

Triple H, 2H4 for lunch? Starts at noon and is real fun to go into.

Not sure I can make the Triple H but might be able to swing the Flushing.

I know it's not the Key's but .................. it's an excuse.

Hey Herb, I will be over at Triple-H. Will drive there since my plane is in for rebuilt engine. Only takes about 30 minutes to get there. I think Triple-H is one of the better flyins (For lunch) in Michigan. Pig roast and a thousand other type of foods. Either bring a dish to pass or donation.

Try to make it there.

Triple - H is on Saturday, we are going to KMIE for lunch. Also, Presidential TFR for Saturday. Don't know how it would affect it.

My 12 year old took the shot of Larry's Skymaster in the slot on the way to JXN yesterday.

Suggestion...
 

Those of you posting pictures in .bmp (bitmap) format can save a TON of bandwidth on the web as well as your own computer by converting these to .jpg (JPEG) format... that first picture was something like 6.5 Megabytes.... but in .jpg it's only 148 KB.

To convert it on your own machine, right click the mouse button and "OPEN WITH" MS photo editor, then save the same picture in .jpg.

I have checked the attached photos and they appear to be smaller files than you describe. Were they changed already? The file I attached is a JPEG, and it is 147kb

Gee, you're right! Funny... when I saved both of the photos, my machine automatically saved them as .bmp files... even though they're .jpg's as you described. So, maybe it's operator error on my end!

KAMN, Alma, 45 nm from GRR, nice airport.
KOEB, Coldwater, 38 miles from 4N0.

Any interest in any of these excellent Michigan Venues??
If we go to ALMA, and Herb goes along, we could meet in GRR.

Looks like Sunday will be a T-Storm day, at least through the late morning. Let's forget about this weekend, shoot for next weekend, and of course June 19.

How about Y70, Ionia, midway between LAN and GRR. If Herb goes, we could meet in GRR, if he doesn't, we could meet at LAN?

I could be convinced. What about Drmmond Island? That sounds more like an adventure to me. Y66, 208 km from GRR, figure about 1.4 hrs. Meet in GRR at 0700 local and be up there by 1000.
Or meet at Alpena APN and go from there together.
