Pre-buy 336 near Fresno

I am considering buying a 336 near Fresno, Ca. This is the one advertised by SkyMasters. Any information concerning this aircraft would be appreciated. Anyone who could do a pre-buy.

Skydoc,

I strongly recommend you take Walt up on his offer. He has a *beautiful* 336, and knows the airplanes very well.

336 Fresno

Sky Doc,

Did you take Walt up on his offer? What did you find out? Curious.

Will give him a call.

However did find Lawson Barber who did the prebuy at Madera Airport. Found metal in the rear engine. Some other problems so I stopped there.

Will continue to search.

There is another in Wisconsin owned by David Leaf. I will begin research on this one. Anyone with any info. Know it will need engines.

Thanx

I have a 1976 P model for sale

Kevin B's offer raises this question: why a 336? I don't believe it's for the fixed gear, because you can make a 337 fixed at essentially no cost. Is it because price is much lower? Can someone educate me?

337 Fixed Gear

Ernie,

I'm intrigued by your comment that a 337 can be converted to fixed gear at essentially no cost. I know of one aircraft that has been so converted. It was for sale on skymaster.com. Is there an STC for the conversion? And how is it so inexpensive? Curious.

A new thread has been started where I answer this question. The thread title is "337 fixed gear? STC? Where? vs 336"
