Float equiped 337?

Hello Everyone,

I am new to your forum and first of all want to say that its been a great read, I have been lurking for awhile now.

I am curious if anyone has ever seen a 337 thats been equiped with floats, is it even possible or even worth it?

What are the cons?

Anyone have any pics of one so equiped?

Thanks

Gunny

I have a friend who has seen two of them in Alaska. Apparently they have thick, obtrusive bracing between the two wings inside the cockpit along the ceiling. He says they like them a lot. I would think that the water would corrode the rear engine and prop like crazy, but my friend says no. I have never seen one myself, and do not have pictures.

The best source of pictures of Skymasters is www.skymaster.org.uk. This site has a huge number of pictures on it. I don't know if their are any float equipped 337 pictures, but you might email Peter the webmaster and see if he knows of any.

I have a book I got from Sky Smith about 7 years ago with many articles about the Skymaster. In the book there was a a Pic of a Floats 336
Sky Smith may have one.

I have misplaced the pic
