Pressurized Mags

Hi All,

Does anyone have pressurized mags on their bird? If so I would like to find out some stuff.

Thanks,

I installed the pressurization kit from TCM on Piper Turbo Arrows and Seneca's. A real tidy and simple task.

Tapped into the upper deck with a 1/4 line, thru an inline air filter, a "T" fitting, then to the two mags. The line went into the tapped hole on the magneto at the distributor gear.

Yep, I do! It is N34EC. What info do you need?

Hi Jerry,

I assume you have a P337 and are using the Riley STC. My question is: what is the mag part number you are using and is the tach drive still run off the mag? I have a T337H and am investigating the possibility of pressurizing the magnetoes.

Thanks,

I'l get the mag number for you next time I go to the hangar. I can tell you now, the tack drive is driven off the mag.

But the tach sensor is on the bottom hole, the one closest to the rotating magnet. The pressurization air goes into the other hole, the upper one.

Pressure Mags

Don't forget to plug the little hole in the bottom or everything is for not. I learned the hard way and couldn't figure out why no pressure mag. Works great with a little screw in the hole.

Does anyone have the part number for the in-line filter made by Continental?
I need two of them as my mechanic noticed they were absent. I read on another thread something about upper deck air being clean, but the problem is any oil that may eventually leak from a turbo could get into the mags.
Thanks!!

Thanks guys - RAM looks less expensive - will likely go with them. Both have improved models with a drainage port for water etc.
