The great headset cable mystery

My first aircraft was a helicopter.

In helicopters the headsets plug in overhead behind your head.

We helicopter pilots are REALLY paranoid about dangling cables (or belts) interfering with controls and leading to a sudden, fiery and otherwise gruesome death.

When I transitioned to fixed wing circa 1989, I was AMAZED that fixed wing pilots flew without headsets.

To me, that was like flying with your head in the engine compartment of a car on the highway.

Thus, when I bought my 'thrasher in 1989 or so, I replaced the overhead speaker grille panel to provide plugs for both Bose and standard.

Cables just hang down from overhead behind your shoulder.

Nice. Been great for what, over 30 years.

Not even one gruesome fiery death!

My original Bose finally dies (so sad), so I bought an A30.

These 'new' ones have a control module, which I think is a bit heavy to just leave dangling from my overhead LEMO. Maybe fine. Wouldn't be the first time I overthought something...

What IS a mother to do?

Should I put a second LEMO plug on the left front corner of the panel, where the original headset plug was and still is? Or maybe along the side somewhere?

What do you all do for headset cable / module placement?

Inquiring mind(s) would like to know!
