corrosion protection

Anyone recommend spraying equipment for LPS3 ? Anyone have any experience with switching from corrosionx to ACS50 or LPS3?

LPS3 seems to be better and far less expensive than CX. Comments would be appreciated.

Stick to Corrosion X or ACF 50 they will seep into joints and seam where as LPS 3 is thick and waxy and will seal moisture in as well as out.

LPS3 is mil spec and has the Boing approval and tests for "wicking". There is some good research paper on CPC @ http://www.virginia.edu/cese/researc...t%20AA2002.pdf .....from the university of Virginia. Great paper.......

I was able to obtain the BOING AC wicking test proceedures which this material meets.

From what I can ascertain the lps3 is 1/2 the price and far superior to other products based on the fact it will not run off the material and it is "self healing". Wicking does not seem to be a problem.

I did corrosion X in the past but I have found some corrosion occuring in places that is shouldn't after being "protected".

I can send the boing proceedures and tests if anyone is interested.

I am trying to find a product that is better than corrosionx. It does have lubrication properties for cables etc. It is recommended for use on cables and chains.

Anyone with other experiences ? suggestions ? ideas ? comments?

i have been using acf for several years, it seems to work. have no corrosion as of yet (4yr parked on the beach) i do it every year. i usaly do it myself and really soak the hell out of it. the only drawback is the continual seeping or leaking out, usally last until the next application

acf/lps

i have an acf spray pot with attachments. my mechanic laughed and said use the lps and his crude spray pot and lps. comparing the results between the two systems i now leave mine in storage. J

re corrision

Found a great sprayer to do the aircraft anti corrosion spraying for about 30 dollars. It does a great job atomizing LPS3 or any other liquid for that matter.

highly recommended.
