Spanish Fork Utah appears to be a bad place to fly! (Article has links to two other local accidents)

That was actually one of two Skymasters we had at the airport, the O2 that landed off airport and our '68 Turbo C model. The airport is fine but there have been some oversights by a few people lately that have ended up in tragedies for pilots. The O2 however had a fuel problem on the front engine and long story short, with all the extra drag from the research equipment hanging off the plane and the non turbocharged engine, it's single engine ceiling was around 2000 feet. U77 sits at 4500 feet so rather than crash with the drag from the gear doors or mess with the hand pump, the pilot put it down in a field. Everyone on board was able to calmly exit without a scratch and all the research equipment survived without a scratch as well. Any landing you walk away from . . .

Anyway, the company doing research is replacing the O2 with another Skymaster. Ideally they want something with the Riley Rocket conversion or at least turbocharged to be able to get high altitude tests as well. They are actively looking for a cargo pod to add to it. He's talked with Don and I gave him Owen's information and we're following up on others mentioned on the site but wanted to put feelers out to see if anyone else had a lead on one. Feel free to reply here or PM me.

Thank you for the lead. I'll pass that on. Having the same model as us would be helpful as we hangar fly to understand the fuel system and other items that seemed to change by each model. I would imagine the 31,000' on the Turbo C model would do the trick.
