I have a web page that some have found helpful in finding parts for Skymasters. It walks you through the methodology of what kind of parts to buy (should I buy used, overhaul, PMA, surplus, new? ) and then gives you a list of suppliers who have performed well in the past. You will find there who to call. Go to www.SkymasterUS.com and click on "Purchasing Parts".

What type of FUEL CAPS does your 337C have, are the the old thermos-bottle type like the ones on my 337B, if so you need to install the NEW type cap with the ridge down the middle of the lid
I installed these on my plane a few years ago when I gave up looking for the old thermos-bottle type to replace mine. At the time the cost was about $ 400 for all four caps and lids.

gas caps

My 76 H has two caps, I replaced them with generic 3 inch caps from aircraft spruce. I was told they no longer make the Cessna cap, oritginal caps I found were several times more expensive than generic three inch caps.
I did have to grind the clamp slightly to get it to fit under the door.

The Cessna Mod Kit to replace the "thermos bottle cap" is SK337-40C. It can be ordered from any Cessna dealer. Last time I bought a kit it was more than $500. I recommend it because it adds a plate at the tank filler opening that has a raised lip to eliminate water getting into the tank, has a smaller opening to preclude getting a jet fuel nozzle in it and adds vented caps. I have a few extra parts for sale but not a complete kit.

Just starting a search for replacement fuel caps for my 1973 G model. Anyone have any laying around they don't need? Any suggestions of where I might get some besides Don Neiser (who I will contact) would be appreciated!

Thanks Ed

Thanks Herb,

These are different then mine. I like these better but the 337G has the type where they drop in and then push the lever down which squishes the top and bottom together to squeeze the rubber to fit tight in the fuel port. These might be referred to as "thermos" type caps. Anyway, I 'll look up the part number in my parts manual and look harder. I just threw this out there to see if anyone had any around they did not need.

Thanks again,

Ed

This is the information that Don posted back in 2005. It refers to a kit that replaces the older thermos style with the better units like I posted the links to. Not sure what the cost is to buy the kits that Don refers to but I know that my plane had them installed years ago as it had the old style like yours.
