336 rear engine intake modified to 337

Does any one know, if you can modify a Cessna 336 rear engine air intake, making it a fix air intake like in the Cessna 337 ???

Thank you

I have never heard or seen anything modified like that. Might be something to ask Don Nieser about.

He can be reached at Commodore Aero

It won't work

The engine on the 336 has a fan on the prop shaft, so you don't need the scoop. If you were to remove the fan, add the scoop, you will then need to add the cowl flaps, and their associated hardware. (Think Cowl Flap Motors)
All this would then have to pass FAA inspection, as a MAJOR airframe modification.
It would be a very large expense. And if the FAA doesn't pass it (why should they), you are then stuck trying to re-convert it, and getting the re-conversion signed off.

Thank you for the information. Just the cost will not make it possible.
