Upper Strut fairing removal

Any recommendations for removing the upper strut fairing without destroying it? The book just says pull it down. I'm not sure that's possible without drilling out the attaching rivets. Anyone ever replace the rivets with nut plates?

Well I don't know about your C337, but my C 337, just like my C172 both have riv-nuts installed and machine screws. Just drill out your rivets and then install riv-nuts.
