STEC autopilot

I spoke with an avionics shop regarding the upgrading of the old 400 autopilot in a T337. They said the STEC series is STC'd for the 337 but not the T337? We had an STEC 55X in our NA 337 but why would it not be the same for a turbo model? If I could not do STEC, what about a Century? I know I have seen a 2000 in a T337 but don't know much about the Century line...
Thanks,
Dan

Dan, my 1977 T337G had an S-Tec 55x in it as well. Aren't these planes all on the same type certificate?? The T337G type certificate number is A6CE. That type certificate may cover other Skymaster variants. It is worth checking, anyway.

The T models are in their STC list.

The T337D and later are on the list but the T337C and T337B from the late sixties are not.

We have a Century 2000 in our T337C and it works really well. We don't have the Yaw Damper or Flight Director Options but it catches and flies an ILS/glideslope really well, even in gusty conditions.

Good luck.
