Cockpit Organizers

I am having trouble with keeping my cockpit organized. I have manuals, charts (lots of them), POH's, and goodness-knows-what-else stowed away in the two front side pockets, seat pockets and sometimes even on the glare shield.

I need some advice on how to clean that up, but at the same time give everything its own dedicated place, so that I can find whatever I'm looking for almost without even looking for it.

Cockpit organizers seem to be the first answer that comes to mind, but there are so many different ones out there, that I simply do not know which one to choose. Perspex, plastic or aluminum? How wide? How deep? How long? What should I look for in an organizer? What makes an organizer stand out above the rest?

At the same time, I would really appreciate getting something that can also hold coffee mugs!! ;>)

Any words of advice?

Same problem than you. And it seems to grow up every day! I'm searching for authorities aproved Flight bag. At the moment they are still expensive and, I think, non complete solutions for excesive paper in cockpit. Then, by the moment, it reamains being a solution...my wife. Hohohoho. Regards.

I think today's flying documentation requires a larger airplane and a librarian.

No kidding - my wife is one, and last night on our trip from Calgary to Cold Lake she said: "Next time get something with an isle an a potty"!

Women...can't live without them and can't fly with them or...something like that.

Oh well. I use to have same problem with lots of charts etc. What I do now is plan a little better by only taking out the necessary charts required for a particular flight along with approach plates with the airport information I am going to held together with a paper clip. We all tend to take too many charts and the like. Just take the necessay ones.
