Arctic-Air Real A/C

I purchased the Arctic-Air Real Air conditioner. With my airplane in its annual inspection, it is being installed. There is room on each side of it for the typical travel bag, but I will be using the cargo pack for anything that I can get in it. The Real A/C is not a permanent installation, but the plate that it mounts to is, so this will end the question of whether my airplane is a four or six-seater.

How are you going to power it? Are you going to collect condensate or dump overboard?

This video explains it best: https://www.youtube.com/watch?=BfOCWL_sdEo

A smart controller adjusts the amp load. The guy talks about 75 to 100 amps of power in the video, which was some years ago. Now they say 60 to 70 amps. We've done the amp mapping; with modern avionics, the airframe doesn't draw much. You still use the typical limitations that any air-conditioned aircraft I've flown has. My airplane now has the 400 Cessna electrical system. Hot air goes out the back of the cabin through a new vent along with the condensation.

Got to do something living here in South Texas; cabin is brutal on the ground and down low.

Are you mounting it mid ships like that? Also post some pictures once its finished. Id really like A/C even here in California. Its very hot in summer.

It is actually centered in the baggage area. Yep, pictures and a report will follow.
