Important Changes To The Message Board

As originally established, a user could sign up, and pretty much immediately be granted permission to post.
As we have seen, recently, that has been taken as a liberty to post SPAM on our message board. To counter that, I am implementing a policy that each new user will have to be verified (it's painless, I assure you), before they are allowed to post.

Secondly, we recently had a vote on permitting, or not, avatars. As of now avatars are permitted. Keep them clean, family friendly.
max size is 150 pixels.

To install an avatar:
1. Get an image, a picture you want to use.
2. Resize it so that it is no bigger than 150 pixels.
3. Save the image to your computer.
4. On the message boad page, open My Settings
5. Select Edit Options
6. Select Avatar
7. load your avatar

Here's your Avatar Daddy

Full size image of the Avatar, shows Col. Harney flying N712JF over the South Hills of Southern Idaho near the Nevada / Idaho border. Many years of flying 337's, Col. Harney has over 5,000 hours in a Skymaster. Many of you may recognize the aircraft in the photo as my current airplane now made famous by the Michigan Flyers. Posted by his best student "rough surface".

the original photo .....we were trying to get pictures of the gear in motion. This is 1980's circa, and photographed from a C172. Hence the blurr in the photo

Looks good there, Bob.

Avatar Install

Hi Guys,
I just installed my avatar, I hope it worked. Nice new feature. Dale

PM or no PM.
PM is private message, outside of email systems. You can exchange a Private Message, without ever disclosing your email account. I have seen it used on other places. It adds some overhead, but given the volume of traffice, it shouldn't be a big deal.

Avatars disabled?

Has the addition of avatars no longer available? Just joined the forum and was wanting to include a photo of my O-2

Thank you Larry

Thanks for the nice e-mails I received from you and your OK to me to post here.

I've got so many questions that I have to find a priority for them, so for now I'll just keep reading and learning.

I'm not a low timer, I'm a no timer just now researching flight schools in my area (Southbay, Los Angeles). It took me 55 years to get myself into the position of being able to learn to fly and buy the plane of my dreams and I am taking each step with a full understanding of every aspect of said step.

I'm going to learn to fly, qualify to fly my dream, and head for Oshkosh 2010.

Take care all

It's a glitch in the software, after we upgraded.
Right now I'm at VNY, and have limited ability to make any changes.
When I get home, next week, I'll get into this, so you can all add avatars.

You might recognize the runway identifier in the picture above.
It was the name of a movie.

Nice of the boss to let you take the Gulfstream down to Van Nye's. Doesn't it just make so much more sense than those darn airlines? Why Nancy has her own so can you!

I like that special end number with your initials "LJB" in reverse. Cleaver!!

G III's beat the heck out of airlines, and most everything else, as well.
No good on grass, though.
JL is a Challenger. Nice ride
The GIII is on the left. Also nice ride.
this is a GII
