Wow, 421, big step? How was the transition? Is the insurance a huge difference? Is the performance and fuel burn justified today? It is truly a comfortable aircraft, a completely different class of airplane. Good for you. Good luck.

It is a big step. The insurance is not a huge deal. About 60% again what the Skymaster was. Initial training was required and annual Sim refresher. The Initial was a full week at Simcom. Very thorough (and expensive). Absolutely necessary tho as this plane is far more complex to me. I've been flying it (solo) about a month now and love it. The economics of this are interesting. I can't back this up but feel I paid approx 1/2 the cost for this plane than if I bought it 3 years ago (I have been toying with this for that long). Can't guess where it will go from here but am hopeful. Fuel is a fortune but (again) hope that relief is on the way. Thanks for the kind words. Pat |
