Rear Engine Oil Sump chaffing

Has everyone seen chaffing on the rear engine's oil sump, caused by the muffler supports? Was it designed for this? The maintenance manual lacks any specific guidance or warning about the installation. Does anyone know of a good way to prevent it?

The support struts must have worn bolt holes or installed incorrectly for this to happen. This is not a normal occurance.

Just had to fix ours, center piece was @ $375.00 the struts were @ $1400.00 ea. Ended up repairing them by making a disk out of 4130 and welding it on the worn piece. the extra thickness gave a little extra space between the strut and the sump
