337E alternator part numbers
looking for alternator part number for front alternator on 1970 337 E. I have cessna part number, C611502. But it looks like any number of shops and suppliers use some different numbers. In particular I have seen a cross to DOFF 10300E (Ford)? Also ES 4004 (Hartzell)? Just confirming with any experienced individuals...

You can use either one. I’ve used both. Air power had the best price for the doff 103

Check with T&W they are one of the biggest rebuilders out there. They may have one in stock or can rebuild yours

thanks for the help. also have read a service bulletin about switching to an updated coupling for the gear drive that allows the shaft to slip. looks like I have the old style, "non-slip". Former owner says this old coupler lead to rear engine failure in past.

43 years and never a problem with the Alt drives

I ended up getting a DOFF 10300E. Many suppliers have in stock with almost no waiting. Also after reading other threads on the alternator drive, I have elected to keep the "old style" non slip alternator drive and service it with cup and cushions per service bulletin. (Don't want to later be chasing a slipping drive that reduces alternator output and causing light to go on). Prior owner cautioned though that failure of the old style caused rear engine failure on climb out; so I will remain attentive on servicing them.
