ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE A DAVTRON DIGITAL CLOCK?
LOOKING AT THE M850 OR M877 NOT SURE WHAT THE DIFFERENCE IS BUT AM THINKING OF UPGRADING THE OLD WIND UP OEM LOOKS LIKE THE MSRP IS AROUND $465 + INSTALL FYI, I HAVE THE M655 MULTI AND LOVE IT ALSO A DVOR READOUT AND ADF ALL FROM DAVTRON NICE STUFF |
Herb,
You might consider the Electronics International Superclock. It has current time, Zulu time, elapsed time since takeoff/countdown timer, outside air temperature (F and C), and an altitude alerter all in one 2" instrument. Not sure how much it costs, but I really like mine. I also got an EI voice annunciator at the same time, which adds a chime in the headset for altitude warnings, as well as voice messages like "check bus voltage, check oil pressure" etc. Will be more money probably, but saves panel space, and VERY useful. I have the EI superclock and find it a worthwhile instrument. It has alt functions that work with the second transponder. Very simple to use and easy to read. bob |
I have the M877 - and it works fine, however programming the count-down timer is a bit tedious. It lacks the nice features of the other products suggested above.
Here's another angle to consider: I have a voice recorder in my DRE Symphony intercom and I can play back recent radio transmissions. This is handy for those fast clearances - I say "Standby for readback" and then playback the recording as I write it down. The DVR 300i clock by FlightCom has a voice recorder. I've never used it, but if I didn't have the Symphony, I'd strongly consider it: http://www.flightcom.net/site/products/dvr.php |
