Fuel Strainer
1 Attachment(s)
Make sure you have your A&P check your Fuel Strainers at every annual. I am attaching pictures of a standpipe I removed from a Cardinal during an Annual last week. The Top Assy was also ruined but I don't have a picture of it. This aircraft was supposedly well taken care of. Had to cut the nut off with a chisel
BTW Cessna cost for complete unit $939.00 Fred N358 |

Two questions, Fred: how old is your bird (year built and total hours) and details on the new strainer (where did you get it and how much $).

Ernie:
As I said in my first post, this came from a Cessna Cardinal, it is the same year as my Skymaster, 1967, The strainers are the same in both aircrafts. The owner purchased a new one for $ 783.00. I had never seen one this bad and I though you guys might be interested in seeing it. Don't get me wrong it might have lasted another 10 years before the bowl fell off but I sure would not have wanted it on my airplane !!!!! Fred N358 |
