Try Don Nieser

Rick:

Try Don Nieser, Preferred Airparts, or the other folks on Ernie's site. Somebody has to have it for a reasonable price . . . I think. Hey, I know, call Cessna. ;)

Anyone else with any ideas?

Rick, in Mexico, may have trouble doing a search. If someone can get me the part number (I don't have an illustrated parts catalog), I'll search for one.

i purchased the cd for parts and service from "mc curtiant", but it seems its generic and does not list the part number for the plastic dome lens for a 73p. so i have no way of getting a part #.
thank's for offering - rick

I'm seeing my A&P tomorrow and will ask him to bring the IPC so I can find the P/N.

OK, Rick, I got the Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) and found the dome light. The upper part of the figure below shows the dome light (extreme right, item number 16) for S/N's thru 1671, and the lower part of the figure shows it (item number 25) for subsequent S/Ns. Note that the latter one has a flat lens while the former one has like a diamond-shaped design at each end. I have the part numbers for both items. Let me know which one it is.

that was a lot of effort, thank you ernie!!!
i am not sure which one it is as my serial no# is 0002, but that is a riems number. if it would be possible can you look up both serial number types and i can go from there (one of them should fit a riems). rick

i owe you, a case of beer is waiting.

Rick:

I may have to look again at the IPC. The upper figure (for S/N's thru 1671) is also for S/N's F33700056 thru F33700076 and the lower figure is also for S/N's F33700077 and higher. I think that these are the French (Riems) S/N's. There probably is a different figure for lower S/N's, and I'll look for it next time I get the IPC.

Rick:

Looked yesterday at the Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC) of my A&P but it's only for 1973 and after, and starts with S/N F33700056. If someone else has an IPC covering earlier models and can look up the part number, I'll try to find the part.

thank you ernie. don nesseer "e" me with two different part numbers. he does not have them, but this gives me a place to start. going north in feb for the annual and at that time i should be able to run the part down. thank's to all for your imput.

I have Reims serial number number 19. How did yours end up in Mx as most stayed in Europe?

From the IPC for your serial number, FP3370001 thru FP3370008, figure 116, item 11, part number 1515021-1, LENS - DOME LIGHT.

If you like I can fax you the pages.

Have you tried the plane plastic folks as I think they had head liner and other stuff on their site, but come to think about it, I don't recall seeing the dome lens. I know that Libra Air Parts in California recently scrapped a 1973 P so they might be a source.

Regards - Dave

thank's to dave and all others i now have the correct part #.
it is much appreciated. rick
