Cesna Super Skymaster Model

I was able to find and purchase on Ebay for my son a vintage Hawk brand model of a Skymaster. The box depicts both the completed model painted as a "Citair City Air Transport" but also a photograph of a real Skymaster bearing the N number 1758C which was reserved by Cessna as a manufacturers temporary on 4/08/69 and still with no purge date or pending number change. The model box bears no date. Anyone know where that a/c is now? Just curious.

according to landings.com, N1758C is not registered.

The FAA registry lists the number as "reserved". It was reserved as a manufacturers temporary by Cessna in 1969 but there is no renewal date, no purge date and no pending number change. I'm just curious what Cessna did with the plane. Maybe they kept it as a company plane or reregistered it and sold it as used. I guess the photo on the model kit box is a Cessna promo photo that Hawk used with permission. Its a neat model though. Can't wait 'till my kid opens it. He's been asking for a Skymaster model for months. Took me a while to find one.

Just curious,

What does Cessna do with anything of an expirmental nature? Eg. I have a picture of an .. Experimental O-2T featured (with) two Allison gas turbine engines - 1967 N # N6309F..
I got it from "The Twin Cessna Flyer" a news letter in the mid 90s. Wonder if Mr Nieser has it? (Hi Don, how is it going?)

Guy, the old 72 driver...
