It's not a push-to-test socket. It has a cap that holds a bulb which illuminates the trim position indicator when the panel lights are turned on.

Yes, the rear engine does run warmer. Sometimes I'd crack open the rear cowl flaps just a bit, which would help.

I'm having two EI MVP50P's installed now so I should have some more accurate info...
