OSHKOSH is under water - NO PARKING!

UPDATE - OSH is not accepting inbound flights because of the devastating rain events over the last few days and most recently last night. AirVenture is not allowing any parking on grass until further notice. All aircraft are parked parallel to runways on the only high ground not saturated by rain. The only way in is if someone else leaves. They are diverting traffic to surrounding area airports but it's only a matter of time for those to be full also. The Cessna Mass arrival is delayed 48 hours as of just a few minutes ago. All mass arrivals were canceled today and now scheduled for Monday. It is not looking good, the only bright news is that the rain has stopped and the forecast looks like it will be dry for the next 4 days. At least that's what I read in the forecast. More rain on Tuesday PM - Wednesday AM.

The gathering point for the Cessna's is Juneau, WI just south of OSH. There are 40 or so Cessna's there waiting for OSH to open. Some of the folks have rented cars to drive up to AirVenture and look at the situation. Others are starting engines for an approved Cessna formation fly by at AirVenture to just have something fun to do. The OSH tower has given an OK for 25 flyers to make a 1000 ft pass over the field in formation and then back to Juneau to wait it out.

It's a mess, there is info on the OSH 365 http://twitter.com/EAAupdate/statuses/19387784462 site and check NOTAM updates before departing of AirVenture to be sure you have the latest info. If you have any questions feel free to call me 616-401-3637. I am still in Grand Rapids, waiting here seems a lot easier than in a wet tent.
