Great minds think alike. I was just getting ready to ask the same question. My POH for 73 P337 also shows 10 quarts capacity. My dipsticks are marked only for 8 qts max. I've never been able to put in more than 8.5 qts during oil changes with new filters. I have one new factory reman and one Rolls Royce, and they both are the same. I don't know why the difference, either.
