After a large friend stepped on it, and it broke (did I mention he was large?),
and repeatedly hitting my shins on it,
I just had it removed during an annual.

I'd swear I picked up 2-3 knots without having the step hanging out there.

Maybe that's why steps retract in other aircraft? 310's?
