Hi Ed, I also have an intermittent tach problem which I believe originates with broken strands in the wires as they leave the pick-up. I would be interested to know where you ordered the pick-ups from, what the cost is and whether you know if they can be removed and replaced from the mag without removing the mag or the alternator from the case.
