Thanks to our west coast contributor for bringing this to my attention.
I have attached the AD for your review.
If anyone has a 337 modified with Flint tips tanks please contact me for information. If you have the factory 150.6 gallon main tanks (some G models and all H models) you are not affected by this AD. I have had one customer who didn't want to wait for the AD to be issued to do the retrofit on his aircraft so we did encounter some minor issues with the drawings. Changes due to these issues have been made to the drawings and I will be sending them to the FAA for approval.

As is reported in the AD I was not in agreement with some of the inspection requirements in the AD. We do modify the Cessna closeout rib to provide relief for the tip tank vent system and fuel line connection as well as the optional removal of the closeout rib aft of the aileron. But, as is stated, the tip tanks have their own closeout rib to maintain structural integrity of the wing tip. Our installation drawings do not allow for unreinforced cutouts for new inspection panels, tapping of aircraft structure for mounting bolts (nuts and washers are provided and required for the tip mounting and tinnermans are provided for the inspection panels) nor are any holes drilled into the spar cap except where used for mounting the tip itself.

I can be reached at 619-448-1551 or via email (dennis@flintaero.com or sales@flintaero.co) if you have any questions.
