P337G Explosive Decompression - Salvage Auction
There is a P337G that had an explosive decompression event. The door latch failed in flight, causing enough damage to the fuselage that the insurance company wrote the airplane off as a total loss, and is currently accepting bids.
Yes, it was one of our long-time member's airplane. Engines have slightly over 100 hours on them, and there is a full Garmin glass suite installed. Props have similar times. Paint and interior are both excellent. Aircraft has been completely disassembled. Even if it can't be repaired, there is good value in the engines, props, avionics, etc. What would be your auction estimate for this airplane? I assume you can't finance a salvage airplane, so someone will need lots of liquidity to make this purchase. I sense an opportunity for someone here. Last edited by mshac : 03-09-22 at 06:07 PM. |

They didn't disclose the final bid, but clearly it was above mine (at roughly $50k).
