0-2 in Iraq
I was watching ABC News last night and saw an 0-2 at a helo refueling base in Iraq.
Either that, or it was old footage from NAM. They sure stand out if you are attuned. Always an adventure... Jim |

During some war coverage the other day I saw a fleeting image on a twin-boom aircraft in flight. It was only depicted a very short time and it was distant and fuzzy, but it "could" have been a 337. The announcer was talking about "drone aircraft" at the time. I'm sure Cessna hasn't built any O2/337s in years. Does the military (anyone's) still use the O2? Have they been converted to drones? Just curious.

This was in the background with a helicopter moving slowly in the foreground. They showed the same footage two or three times, and there was no doubt that it was an O-2 in the current camoflage colors.

The was a program in progress last year to convert some O-2's to drones. I don't know whether any are operational, or whether it ever even progressed to completion...

Look at this link. Perhaps this is what you saw on the tube.

Yep, I bet it was the hunter. I do not think that the O2-A drone went through.
