How to disconnect fuel valve control rod for wing removal?
Looking for guidance on fuel valve control rod removal on a 336 to enable wings to come off. Need to move the plane by trailer and have everything but fuel valve control rods disconnected to pull the wings. I have the service manual, but it is not entirely clear to me or my A&P/IA - who has no experience with the 336. Need to move the airplane this coming Tuesday, 12/22.
My question: is the control rod removed just by pulling it through the fuel valve and selector gearbox? I have the service manual and the installation/rigging procedure is pretty well detailed and implies the gears in the selector unit and valve unit will rotate freely 360° to allow the control rod to be removed/installed. Second question: Can anyone suggest an A&P with good familiarity with the 336? Thank you all for any help. David |
