Looking for CFI reference again for the Northeast.

My current CFI is occupied with some personal matters that are going to take some time to sort out. So I'm once again looking for a CFI that can get me some time building here in the northeast so my blankety blank insurer will get me out of this@#$&*! catch 22. They won't cover me until I have 50 hours in type with a CFI who themselves has 50 hours in type. But it's near impossible to find such a CFI because they can't fly insured until they have those 50 hours.

Any reference is appreciated.

Just to review the state of general aviation today, I have owned my skymaster since 2019 and I have logged a grand total of 18 hours in it.

Instead of looking for a different CFI you might consider looking for a different insurance underwriter. Avemco's open pilot requirements are multi-engine, instrument, 1500TT, 100 ME and 5 make & model. That's far different than 50 for the instructor and 50 to be personally insurable. And as for their named insured, I believe they will accept far less but with a corresponding rate bump. With 18 logged hours it seems you both should be good to go. Probably worth a phone call.

Skymaster instructor in Nashville.

I’m a MEII, A&P, IA and own a 337C. Have around 1,800 hours in all types of Skymasters. I’m happy to help. Need to take a trip somewhere?

Wayne Dell Green he is based in Virginia. I got my C337 training from him and also my MEI CLT. Excellent instructor, flew F4s and A4s as a fighter/test pilot in Vietnam as a Marine and has the FAA 50 year Master Pilot award.
