First annual blues pt 1: Threaded prop overhaul = $6k
I hate to put this kind of money into a prop overhaul simply because it's a threaded type (ferrules are apparently getting scarce), but not sure what options really make more sense. MTs have always appealed to me, but the rear prop is in great shape, so replacing that now doesn't appeal to me, and I don't think you can replace just one, by stc.
Anyone found a cheaper (but reputable) shop to overhaul a threaded type? Are there other options that make more sense? Last edited by YankeeClipper : 09-25-20 at 07:50 PM. |

Another shop that still does work on threaded props is Byam Propeller in Ft. Worth. Early Bonanzas had threaded props, and Byam has been servicing them for decades. I bet they'd be happy to help you out, as long as parts are available, if required.
