Rear Muffler - NA

my 1965 337 is in for annual. Just got news that the rear muffler failed inspection...sent for "repair" along with the transition pieces.

Total cost for the repair (with new clamps)...$2400 parts only.

Is this out of line? Any other experiences with this hunk of steel?
