T337E question about door latch assembly
Hi, guys-- have a frustrating problem. The screw broke connecting the handle on my door to the pull bar, and we replaced it, but now it won't properly function. The culprit seems to be the spring that keeps tension on the pull bar and brings it back to allow the pin from the bolt latch to slide along the groove without getting caught up on the dogleg curve of the pull bar'channel. While it's obvious where the spring connects on the pull bar, we can't figure out where the other end is supposed to hook. We've studied the service manual and parts catalog, but the diagrams all show an exploded view of the assembly with the spring attached to the pull bar without providing any clue as to where the other end is supposed to attach. The guy helping me is an IA with lots of history with a Skymaster, and he's stumped. It's a 1970 Turbo 337E.
Where the heck does the spring attach on the other end??? Any help would be appreciated. Last edited by Hankgator : 02-16-16 at 10:15 AM. |
