336 training
I live in Ohio and am purchasing a 336. My insurance requires me to get my MEL, MEI, and 25hrs dual. The seller has been kind enough to offer his home if I do my training there but I would prefer to do it at home, KLUK. Anyone have any suggestions? Otherwise, I will just do it there. I am very excited and am looking forward to the SOAPA meeting in MI. It sounds very interesting. Can't wait to meet other owners. Thanks, Dan

Do you have your mei, mel ratings already??
If so, the 25 hours dual is easy. If not, I would suggest getting the MEL first, do the training for the MEI in your plane. You will find SOAPA 2008 Kalamazoo is going to be exciting. |

I have my SEL/ Instrument. I figured I may as well get both ratings in my plane instead of paying 2-3000 for my MEL then training in mine as I can fly off some of the 25 getting my MEL as well.

If you are SEL/Instrument, the ME can be MEI at the same time.
I went to school in Texas for my ME, and if I had been SEL/Instrument, I would have been MEI at the end. As I recall, and it was some years ago, the requirement is that you do the ME checkride, and shoot one approach for the Instrument add on. |
