Please verify that you're referring to part #5 in the explosion diagram I posted? They are listed as gaskets, not seals. Here is the part info from the TCM catalog:
Part Number 653747 Item #: 5 Description: GASKET - FUEL PUMP ADAPTER TO Quantity Used: 1 Footnote: N/A Sorry about the wife driving you. Last edited by mshac : 09-10-22 at 09:47 PM. |

Shaft #5 drives the fuel pump. Shouldn't there be a seal on the shaft sealing from the engine oil If gasket 5 was leaking it should be leaking by the seal The oil was coming out of the drain tube below the exhaust see picture

I have replaced both front and rear fuel pumps. The only easily serviceable "seal" is that gasket (#5) between the fuel pump base and the engine case. If your loosing oil from the "drain" (called a "dry bay inspection drain"-meaning it's supposed to be dry not dripping or pouring oil) then as you say shaft seal is gone. This seal is part of the pump and means fuel pump disassembly, i.e. fuel pump overhaul. Either seal gone, shaft worn, component wobbling, etc. Quickly get into small, specialized parts (if you can get them), special tools or techniques as well as adjustments on a delicate/critical go item. Just send pump out for overhaul.
I have attached a sample picture of the engine side of the pump. Also a sample picture of pump showing drain. After installing pump, continental has a process for setting the fuel pressures. It's some interesting reading and can be time consuming, having done it. Last edited by wslade2 : 09-11-22 at 02:11 AM. |

I have attached the relevant pages from TCM fuel pump rebuild manual I had previously found on a Beech Owners website. Open PDF.
For the seal, I looked it up and seems aircraft spruce has it in stock! Learn something every day! But, if that rubber wore out, something else in the pump might be at end of life as well. At least changing the seal could get you home. Last edited by wslade2 : 09-11-22 at 05:10 PM. |

I think you need the garlock seal on the mounting pad for the pump. If oil is coming out of the seal drain, that’s what is leaking. If fuel is coming out you need to have your pump repaired
