Mistral Engines
Mistral Engines is looking to install a couple of engines in a Skymaster. I posted this in airplanes for sale, but the whole topic is interesting.
Dear Sir, Mistral Engines SA is a Swiss company developing a new line of rotary aircraft engines, with models ranging from 200 through 360 hp. You can check our website on www.mistral-engines.com . We are contemplating buying a C337 airframe as a test-bed airplane to flight-test TWO of our engine models at the same time, more specifically our 3-rotor normally aspirated 300hp G-300 model, which is presently going through FAA type certification, and our 2-rotor turbocharged 230hp model G-230TS. The idea would be to mount the G-300 in the front and the G-230TS in the back. Our flight–testing operation is located in Deland, Florida. Would some people in your organization kindly comment on the technical feasibility and wisdom of such a plan. If possible, it would double the efficiency of our flight-test program. If feasible, we would be looking for a relatively recent and sound airframe with engines needing replacement. An autopilot would be a most desirable option. Should you know of any airframe fitting this description which might be for sale, please let us know. Thank you for any help you may provide. Yours sincerely, François Badoux, CEO MISTRAL Engines SA 37, ch.
