Middle Seat for P337

I have checked with Owen Bell and RTAerospace and they have not been able to lead me to a STC for what seems like a very rational seating mod for a P337.

That is to move the rear seats all the way back to the bulkhead on the rails, then install a single middle seat, even small one, just in back of the pilot. In my case I could put one of my 9 year old twins and mom in the back seats, the 8 month old baby in the middle, and my 9 year old wannabe pilot as the co-pilot. That could be a great way to fly!

Bill Crews at Skymaster.com told me that someone in Tennessee did that. My first thought was Owen Bell but that seems to be not the case.

Does anyone have a suggestion or link for such a thing?

Thanks

That's not a major alteration, so it would not require an STC, just a log book entry.

Be sure to compute your weight and balance, sounds like moving the CG pretty far aft to me.

Thanks for that input. The lack of need for an STC would make it much easier. Also, this am I got an e mail from Owen Bell who said that he could do that. I guess that it was not listed on his site because he only listed STCs.

I don't think weight and balance will be a problem as I have small kids and a small wife--and I'm the big guy up front. However, the caution is well taken.

Thanks,
