Flying in & out of unpaved strips

What procedures do you use when flying out of unpaved strips.

I do not props are too expensive.

My father does

For gravel strips

He leads with the rear gets the aircraft rolling pulls the nose up and adds power into the front engine. Seems to work no nicks in props.
