DPE near KLVK
Hi
I am looking into getting my son his multi rating in my skymaster. I have an instructor, but the DPE I used based out of Hollister is no longer doing skymaster certs. Does anyone know of a DPE who can do this that is reasonably close to the bay area? Ben |

Multi rating
If he is issued his multi rating in the Skymaster he will be limited to centerline thrust aircraft only. If later he wants to fly conventional twins, the time in centerline thrust will not count. Suggest he do multi training in conventional twin. If he has conventional twin rating, Skymadter time applies as multi engine. It's a quirk in the regs.

Yeah I had thought about that. Might end up having to go this route by default if we cant find the examiner.

Check Virginia for ME/INST DPEs (DPE-CIRE-AMEL) on the FAA DPE locator site: https://designee.faa.gov/#/designeeLocator Results will include DPE contact information. Else, you can call the Richmond FSDO and they can assist in finding one. |
