Still a mystery. Been waiting for more information. Someone posted the ATC recording on YT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-X9m1XpPmI
They stopped comm'ing a few miles out but seemed fine until then. Edit: also just noticed that they had the altitude reporting in there. Was at 100 feet a mile out. No fire, so maybe fuel starve? In reviewing the video of the plane hitting the tree it sounds like at least one of the engines is operating. I can’t tell whether the front prop is stopped vertically or I’m seeing the nose gear down.
One of the news stations has an overhead view of the wreckage, and I’m pretty impressed that the fuselage looks mainly intact. |
