Right Brake Going Flat.
Merry Christmas to you all!
Has anyone suffered the right brake going flat on a regular basis? What seems to be happening is that the right-hand master cylinder, which is higher than the left, cross feeds to the left-hand master cylinder through the parking brake assembly. It over flows fluid in to the hull we presume. If you pump fluid back up from the brake bleed fitting you restore brakes immediately. My A&P and I figured we had it fixed when we replaced the parking brake, but yesterday it happened again. Much frustration! Any comments and suggestions would be gratefully received. |

right brake leak
Hi Dave,
Have your mechanic check the fexible brake hose that connects from the bottom of your master cylinder to the solid brake line in the belly. You must remove front seats and all front floor access panels and inspection plate to gain access to this hose. It is probably holding pressure untill you step on brakes and then it fails again and leaks fluid, Hope this might help you if it is the problem. If this is it you must replace it to solve problem. Bleeding the system will only bring brakes back temporarily until added pressure makes the hose fail. This may not be the problem but it is worth checking out. John |
