I don't know about any other engines, but the R-1820s used on T-28s had ceramic coated exhausts on at least some of them.

I don't "KNOW" any IA's. I've never had a problem. Guess I didn't think it was such a big deal? I know several STC'd exhaust systems for the 172, 182, pipers, come with an option for ceramic coating.
