Riley Short-Field Take-off

I was told by a friend with a Riley Super Skyrocket that Riley would do a 2/3rd's (or 20% depending on model) flap takeoff for short-fields Is anyone familiar with more than a 10% or 1/3rd flap take-off as the POH states? ......I've googled and need some ole school advice.
