New member intro

I recently joined the forum, and got excellent advice on sourcing the (seemingly) unobtanium self-locking nuts for the nose gear split wheel bolts. Thanks for all the recommendations!

I thought I should introduce myself.

I am the owner of a 1965 Skymaster, number 100 off the line. I am the fourth person to own this aircraft in my airpark community south of Atlanta. The aircraft came with all maintenance records back to the Cessna Chief Pilot's signoff after manufacture. It has about 3,600 airframe hours, and mid-time engines. The interior would charitably be described as 2/10, and the paint (not original) is serviceable. Minimal avionics, except for a recently installed Stratus ADS-B in/out transponder with Bluetooth. My plan is to resto-mod the aircraft, replace the interior, upgrade the avionics, and repaint it similar to the original paint scheme. The grandchildren of a prior owner helpfully supplied me with photos of the plane in its original livery, sitting on the ramp next to the owner's late-60s Lincoln Continental. Very valuable data!

I am an A&P/IA, and a Lead Mechanic at Delta Air Lines. As I proceed with my restoration, I expect to have a number of questions for the forum members. I look forward to getting to know some of you.

My wife and I will be at Sun N' Fun this year as usual. If any Skymaster owners will be there, we'd love to meet you and talk about this unique aircraft.

Regards,

George Powell
