Bruce,
I had similar problems with my 77 337 until I stopped trusting that the panel switch would turn off the cowl flap motor at full open or closed. There is a metal cam attached to the mechanism that has two microswitches attached to it that are supposed to cancel power to the cowl flap motor when it hits full open or full closed. If these are misaligned at all the motor can continue to be energized in a stalled condition. This burns out the motor pretty quickly. Now I just look at the light on the panel, and when it indicated open or closed I return the switch to the center position, which is off. It has worked wonders. KB |

Rear Cowl Flap Motor
Hi Bruce,
I have the rear cowl flap motor plus mechanics off of a 1973 337 that I told you about earlier. If you are interested in the motor plus the mechanics, let me know. I am asking $500 for the complete assembly. I can send you pictures of it also. Thanks! Mike |
